Most detailers do well with booking software that takes deposits, sends reminders and handles mobile addresses, such as Square Appointments, Goldie, Urable or Jobber. Free plans exist, and paid plans on the pages we checked run from about $20 to $183 a month. Pick one that books by vehicle size, not just by time slot.
Prices below are from each vendor's own page, as listed on October 21, 2026. They change often, so check before you sign.
What should detailing booking software do?
It should let a customer pick the service, the vehicle size and a real open time in under a minute, then protect that time with a deposit and reminders. If you work mobile, it also has to know where the job is.
- Services priced by vehicle size, like car, SUV, truck or van, with add-ons.
- Job length set per service, so a full detail does not get booked like a quick wash.
- Deposits at booking, with your policy shown before they pay.
- Automatic reminders by text and email.
- Mobile jobs: the address at booking, the areas you serve and travel time between jobs.
- Photos and notes on the job, before and after.
- Repeat bookings, like coating maintenance on a schedule you set.
- Payment at pickup.

Which one fits your shop?
Pick by how you sell. If customers book a set package, a simple booking app is enough. If most jobs start with a quote, like coatings, paint protection film or tint, pick a tool where the quote and the booking live together.
- Solo mobile detailer. Goldie or Square's free plan, with deposits turned on. Upgrade when reminders by hand start eating your evenings.
- A shop with bays and a few techs. Square Plus or Urable Pro, so no-show fees, deposits and staff calendars work together.
- Coatings, film and tint. Urable or Jobber, where the quote comes first. Read how a detailing quote tool works.
- Already booked solid with what you have? Keep it. Fix the inquiries that never reach the booking page.
How do deposits and no-show fees work?
A deposit holds the time, and a no-show fee covers it if the customer does not come. Both only work if the customer saw the rule before booking. Put your policy in writing on the booking page, in the confirmation and in every reminder, and apply it the same way every time.
- Take a deposit on long jobs, like correction or coatings, and on first visits.
- Set a clear cutoff for changes, like 24 or 48 hours.
- Decide real exceptions, like a family emergency, with a person.
- Remind the day before and the morning of. Moving a booking beats missing it.
For more on cutting no-shows, our med spa no-show guide covers reminders and waitlists that work the same way in a detail shop.
What does booking software miss?
Booking software waits for the customer to book. Plenty of detailing customers start somewhere else: a call while you are buffing a hood, an Instagram DM at 10 PM, or "how much for my truck?" with no details. If nobody answers, they book the next shop.
That gap sits outside the booking app. A text-back answers missed calls and DMs from your number within a minute, asks for the vehicle and the service, and sends your booking link or offers real times. See missed call text back and our automations page for how the pieces connect.
Custom vs rented vs doing it yourself
| Rented booking app | Built around your booking app | Doing it yourself | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Books appointments | Yes | Uses your app | By phone and DMs |
| Answers missed calls and DMs | No, or with add-ons | Yes, by text from your number | When you put the buffer down |
| Deposits and reminders | On the right plan | Stay in your app | Payment links by hand |
| Cost | Free to $183 a month on the pages above | A build priced on a free call, then a flat monthly plan | Your evenings |
| Best for | Most detailers | Shops that want inquiries, quotes and booking as one system | Very low volume |
