An auto detailing quote tool asks for the vehicle, the service and its condition, then shows a starting price or sends the request, with photos, to your phone and CRM. Form builders cost from free to $59 a month, and detailing software with quotes starts at $70. The best ones end in a booked bay, not a number.
Prices below are from each vendor's own page, as listed on October 20, 2026.
What should a detailing quote tool ask?
Ask only what changes the price, in the order customers can answer fastest. Start with the vehicle and the service, then condition and photos, then contact details. Every extra question loses people, so cut anything you would not use to price the job.
- Vehicle: year, make and model, or a size class like car, SUV, truck or van.
- Service: interior, exterior, full detail, paint correction, ceramic coating, paint protection film or window tint.
- Condition: pet hair, stains, swirls or odor, plus two or three photos.
- Add-ons: engine bay, headlights, wheels.
- Where: your shop, or the address and ZIP code for mobile work.
- When: two days that work.
- Contact, with a checkbox to agree to texts about the quote.
For tint, ask which windows, which film line and whether old tint needs removing. Then show the legal limits up front. The Texas DPS window tinting standards say front side windows need a light transmittance of 25% or more and reflectance of 25% or less, and windshield tint must sit above the AS-1 line.
Should the tool show an instant price or ask for photos?
Both, depending on the service. Packages that only change with vehicle size can show a starting price right away. Work that depends on the paint, like correction, coatings and paint protection film, should collect photos and get a real quote from you. Never promise a final price on a car you have not seen.
| Service | Best quote style |
|---|---|
| Interior or exterior package | Instant "starting at" price by vehicle size |
| Full detail | Starting price, plus photos |
| Paint correction and ceramic coating | Photos first, your quote after |
| Paint protection film | Photos and coverage choice, your quote after |
| Window tint | Price by windows and film line, with the legal note |

If a free form and a fast reply cover your volume, start there. Upgrade when requests start piling up.
What has to happen after someone hits submit?
The form is only half the tool. The request has to reach you right away and get an answer fast, or the customer asks the next shop. Plenty of quotes die in an inbox, not on the form. A 2011 Harvard Business Review study summarized by SmartCompany found that 23% of 2,241 companies never answered a web lead at all.
- A text goes back within a minute from your number: "Got your request for the F-150. Can you send one more photo of the hood?"
- The request lands in your CRM with the vehicle, the service, the photos and where the lead came from.
- You confirm the price and offer two install days.
- A deposit holds the bay, if you take one.
- Reminders go out the day before and the morning of.

What we learned from our own shop
We run our own paint protection film and window tint shop in the Houston area. Its website has an estimate form that writes straight into the shop CRM, plus a color selector and a tint simulator so customers can try a look before they ask. You can see it in the tint and PPF shop case study. What we would tell any shop:
- Ask for the vehicle first. It is the easiest question, and it gets people started.
- Ask for photos on anything paint-related.
- Show the tint law before the customer picks a shade.
- Reply fast. A quote that arrives tomorrow is competing with every shop they messaged today.
What mistakes should you avoid?
- Ten questions before the customer sees anything useful.
- A firm price for correction or film without photos.
- Requests that land in an email nobody checks on weekends.
- A form that is hard to use on a phone.
- Tint shades on the form that are not legal on front side windows, with no note.
